En Estados Unidos<\/strong> puede pasar que al lado de la puerta de entrada al supermercado, te topes con la puerta de entrada a un estudio de yoga. No es raro encontrarse con sitios tan opuestos separados por una delgada pared.<\/p>\n

Aqu\u00ed en M\u00e9xico he visto bares junto a escuelas y hasta un table casi contiguo a una iglesia, pero nunca me ha tocado que un WalMart<\/strong> comparta muro con un centro de meditaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Fui a Portland<\/strong>, en el estado de Maine<\/strong>, y aunque una ma\u00f1ana sal\u00ed a correr bastante temprano, la temperatura acariciaba los 30 grados cent\u00edgrados. Como ya me estoy preparando para mi pr\u00f3ximo marat\u00f3n, el entrenamiento fue sumamente agotador: algo as\u00ed como ocho fartleks de cuatro minutos intensos y dos minutos de recuperaci\u00f3n, si la memoria no me traiciona.<\/p>\n

Cerca de la casa donde nos hospedamos, yo hab\u00eda visto un Walgreens<\/strong>, una de esas farmacias gigantes que m\u00e1s bien parecen tiendas de autoservicio, as\u00ed que me guard\u00e9 un billete de 20 d\u00f3lares en la bolsita trasera de mi short, por si al terminar mor\u00eda de sed. Dicho y hecho, casi emanando vapor, entr\u00e9 por un Gatorade<\/strong> helado sabor cereza glacial que a\u00fan no he visto que vendan por ac\u00e1. Una delicia.<\/p>\n

Me pareci\u00f3 francamente extra\u00f1o que conforme empujaba la puerta del Walgreens<\/strong> comenzaran a sonar de esas campanitas armonizadoras onda tibetanas, en lugar del t\u00edpico timbre de tienda para alertar al despachador. Se me hizo demasiado feng shui la cosa para uno de estos s\u00fapers gringos, hasta que, distra\u00eddo como siempre, me di cuenta de que hab\u00eda abierto la puerta equivocada, la puerta de al lado, la del local de yoga y mindfullness.<\/p>\n

La gente dentro, en su mayor\u00eda mujeres, se sorprendi\u00f3 de ver entrar a un tipo en shorts, camiseta y tenis de correr, empapado en sudor. Recorr\u00ed sus miradas una a una r\u00e1pidamente con la m\u00eda y, sin decir nada, di un paso atr\u00e1s mientras segu\u00eda resonando el til\u00edn, til\u00edn del m\u00f3vil de viento. Una vez afuera abr\u00ed la otra puerta y ya en la fila para pagar pens\u00e9 que aquella graciosa escena deb\u00eda contarse.<\/p>\n

No cabe duda que correr te puede llevar a lugares insospechados: a una tienda, al consumismo, a un instante zen, al hospital, a una meta, a la orilla del mar, a un cerro, a un paseo con los amigos o al reencuentro propio cuando eliges el sendero de la reflexi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La vida es incierta y eso, de cierto modo, la vuelve m\u00e1gica. Sus caminos est\u00e1n llenos de sorpresas, situaciones imprevisibles y encuentros inesperados. Si en un entrenamiento o durante el recorrido de los famosos 42.195 kil\u00f3metros suceden cosas tan maravillosas cuando te abres a lo desconocido, lo que podr\u00e1 ocurrir si encaminas y entregas tu existencia hacia tu insospechado final.<\/p>\n
