Incluso la muerte de un enfermo terminal es causa de sorpresa. Nunca se est\u00e1 preparado. Nadie est\u00e1 preparado. Ni el que se va ni quienes se quedan. Morir siempre ser\u00e1 inadecuado.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo morir? \u00bfD\u00f3nde? \u00bfA qu\u00e9 hora? \u00bfCon qui\u00e9nes alrededor?\u00a0 Cualquiera dir\u00eda que junto a la familia, pero qu\u00e9 tal si es en plena calle y los que se arremolinan son s\u00f3lo extra\u00f1os curiosos. \u00bfY si la hora llegara en el momento exacto en que realizamos lo que m\u00e1s disfrutamos? Lo \u00fanico malo ser\u00eda que seguramente no habr\u00eda tiempo para concluir la tarea, para culminar aquella raz\u00f3n de vivir.<\/p>\n<p>Apenas comenzaba el a\u00f1o cuando parec\u00eda el fin de los d\u00edas de <strong>Damar Hamlin<\/strong>, safety de los <strong>Buffalo Bills<\/strong> en la <strong>NFL<\/strong>. El pasado tres de enero se desplom\u00f3 repentinamente tras derribar a <strong>Tee Higgins<\/strong>, receptor abierto de los <strong>Bengal\u00edes de Cincinnati<\/strong>, en una jugada que parec\u00eda que rutina. En el entendido de que la vida siempre ser\u00e1 una batalla perdida, todos se hincaron, cerraron los ojos y apuntaron con las palmas de sus manos hac\u00eda \u00e9l en un esfuerzo desesperado de transmitirle sus fuerzas.<\/p>\n<p>Ya alguna vez hab\u00eda escuchado de alg\u00fan beb\u00e9 que luego de varios minutos muerto volvi\u00f3 a la vida mientras su madre lo abrazaba con todo su ser. La escena de estos hombres rudos aferrados con el pensamiento y las plegarias a la vida de su colega, no distaba mucho de un milagro de tal naturaleza.<\/p>\n<p>Recientemente so\u00f1\u00e9 que, del modo m\u00e1s inesperado y cruel posible, me mor\u00eda. En medio de la agon\u00eda, sent\u00ed con un impactante realismo el dolor de lo inconcluso, el fat\u00eddico arrepentimiento de lo malogrado, la frustraci\u00f3n de no haber atendido el motivo de mi existencia y de desaprovechar la ocasi\u00f3n \u00fanica de vivir.<\/p>\n<p>Nos podemos ir en el momento menos pensado y m\u00e1s inoportuno, mientras perseguimos esa pelota o mientras dejamos escapar las ilusiones.
