La segunda raz\u00f3n, y quiz\u00e1s en la que m\u00e1s atenci\u00f3n tendr\u00edamos que poner, es que ese segundo mejor crono de la historia lo hizo suyo en Londres, una ruta no necesariamente apta para bajar tiempos.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Si Eliud vuelve a correr de esa colosal manera en un circuito que sea un poco m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido, yo no dudo que podamos verlo protagonizar la mayor haza\u00f1a del atletismo: bajar de las dos horas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYo creo que puede volver incluso a romper su r\u00e9cord. No podemos saber lo que la mente humana es capaz de hacer\u201d, advierte Patrick Sang, su coach, quien adem\u00e1s, y por obra de qui\u00e9n sabe qui\u00e9n, era vecino de la familia Kipchoge cuando Eliud, siendo todav\u00eda un ni\u00f1o, pedaleaba todas las ma\u00f1anas su bicicleta desde la granja donde creci\u00f3, hasta el peque\u00f1\u00edsimo pueblo de Kapsabet, adonde vend\u00eda las botellas de leche que \u00e9l mismo enfrascaba para ayudar a su familia. Despu\u00e9s corr\u00eda tres kil\u00f3metros para llegar a la escuela.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Only the disciplined in life are free <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AHZq7jBaGN\">pic.twitter.com\/AHZq7jBaGN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Eliud Kipchoge &#8211; EGH\ud83c\uddf0\ud83c\uddea (@EliudKipchoge) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EliudKipchoge\/status\/1040312637031104513?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 13, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cExclusivamente los disciplinados en la vida son libres\u201d, public\u00f3 el keniata en su twitter \u2014que pareciera m\u00e1s bien el de un sabio o un fil\u00f3sofo\u2014 horas antes de convertirse en el maratonista m\u00e1s grande del mundo en Berl\u00edn, donde ning\u00fan muro, ninguna pared, ning\u00fan obst\u00e1culo y ninguna circunstancia de la vida lograron detenerlo.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Si a trav\u00e9s de mis pensamientos se asoma la ilusi\u00f3n de que un d\u00eda Kipchoge complete los 42.195 kil\u00f3metros por debajo de las dos horas, no dudo que tal posibilidad sea ya una idea bien enraizada en su mente, ese lugar donde los seres humanos somos capaces de infringir las murallas de la realidad y de abrirles puertas que nos sirven de pasadizos para correr llenos de asombro hasta el extremo de lo impensable.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cEl \u00fanico culpable del \u00e9xito en el atletismo es la mente, no el talento\u201d<\/strong>, dice Sang, y yo conf\u00edo en que as\u00ed suceda: una ma\u00f1ana de marat\u00f3n su corredor estrella habr\u00e1 de levantarse y dejar aquel misterioso portal abierto para por all\u00ed escabullirse y conseguir el milagro. Es la \u00fanica manera, un d\u00eda propicio.
